Conserving Carolina and PAL. Play. Advocate. Live Well., a North Carolina nonprofit and South Carolina nonprofit respectively, are requesting proposals from qualified entities to develop a strategic plan for community engagement and a regional economic development and marketing plan for the proposed Saluda Grade Trail.
Proposals are due by 5:00 pm EST on July 1, 2025. All questions must be emailed to Kristin Cozza at kristinc@conservingcarolina.org by 5:00 PM EST on June 3. Responses to questions deemed pertinent to all proposals will be posted on this site by June 6, 2025.

Across the United States, inactive rail lines have found new life as vibrant rail trails. Now, we have the opportunity to create a beautiful new trail along the historic Saluda Grade rail line!
A new rail trail that travels from the rolling countryside of Upstate South Carolina, through historic and vibrant small towns, and into the spectacular mountain scenery of Western North Carolina.
