Conserving Carolina and PAL. Play. Advocate. Live Well., a North Carolina nonprofit and South Carolina nonprofit respectively, are seeking proposals from experienced rail/rail hardware salvage and track removal construction contractors to provide rail corridor salvage and demolition services for the former W-Line (Saluda Grade) railroad between Inman, South Carolina, and the terminus near Zirconia, North Carolina. This work will support conversion of the 31.5-mile corridor into an ADA accessible Shared Use Path.
Proposals are due by 5:00 PM EST on August 31, 2026. All questions must be submitted in writing to Leigh MacDonald at lmacdonald@palspartanburg.org no later than August 14, 2026.
