The Saluda Grade Trails Conservancy is officially under contract to purchase a 31-mile rail corridor for a proposed rail trail running from Upstate South Carolina to Western North Carolina.
The public is invited to two upcoming presentations that will share findings from a year-long, in-depth study of the proposed Saluda Grade Trail. The North Carolina meeting will be held on Aug. 6 at Polk County High School in Columbus, NC at 6:00 PM. The South Carolina meeting will be held on Aug. 13 at the Gramling United Methodist Church in Inman, SC at 6:00 PM.
The Saluda Grade Trail was awarded a $450,000 grant from the federal Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies, announced today.

The Saluda Grade Trail Conservancy is conducting a Feasibility Study to assess the possibility of converting the Saluda Grade rail corridor into a greenway trail. As part of this study, we are gathering input from the community about the proposed greenway trail.
